Shanna Aberle is a Virginia-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice is driven by creativity, curiosity, and play. She explores the expressive potential of diverse materials, following possibilities rather than committing to a single path. Her process is guided by a willingness to try something new, push boundaries . . . or explore beyond them . . . and let her own spark lead her toward unexpected ideas and discoveries.
Her approach grew from an early fascination with transforming ordinary materials, from cake design and pumpkin carving to creating imaginative Halloween costumes for her children. Today, play and experimentation remain central to her work, balanced by meticulous attention to detail and a willingness to see where an idea might lead.
Her multidisciplinary practice continues to evolve as she explores new materials, techniques, and ideas. Her first solo exhibition, Boundaries and Spark, opens November 6, 2026, at the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts.
Through her evolving practice, Shanna seeks to uncover the hidden beauty in the everyday, finding significance in ordinary experiences, objects, and moments . . . and perhaps give viewers a reason to pause, look a little closer, and smile.
